Privacy Policy

What we collect
- When you ask us to build you a sample: your restaurant’s name and town, your name, your phone number, your email if you give one, and anything you write in the message box.
- When you become a customer: the email address you sign in with, and the name, phone number and billing address you give at the checkout.
- Your restaurant’s content: menu, prices, hours, photos and the text on your website. This is published deliberately — that is the point of it.
- Basic technical information needed to serve pages and stop abuse, such as the time of a request and a shortened, one-way fingerprint of the network address a form was submitted from.
We never see or store your card number. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe on their own pages. We only ever learn the last four digits, the card brand, and whether a payment worked.
Why we hold it
To reply to you, to build and host your website, to take payment, to tell you when something has gone wrong with your account, and to keep records we are required to keep. We do not sell your information and we do not send marketing to your restaurant’s customers.
Who else is involved
These companies process data on our behalf so that the service can work:
- Supabase — the database, your login, and photo storage.
- Stripe — payments, invoices and billing records.
- Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of the websites, and our domain’s DNS and email forwarding.
Your website itself is public, on purpose. Anything you publish on it — your phone number, address, hours, prices and photos — can be seen and copied by anyone, including search engines.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that never become customers: kept while we might still be useful to you, then deleted.
- Customer content after a website is switched off: 12 months, then deleted.
- Payment and tax records: kept for as long as the law requires, which is longer than the above.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Your dashboard already lets you download your content yourself at any time. Write to hello@byte2bite.tech and we will answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights — for example, residents of some US states can ask whether their information has been shared, and ask us not to sell it. We do not sell personal information.
Children
This service is for businesses. It is not intended for anyone under 18.
Cookies
Our sales site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Signing in to the dashboard sets a cookie that keeps you signed in; without it the dashboard cannot work. Restaurant websites we build set no tracking cookies unless you ask us to add something that does.
Changes
If we change this in a way that matters we will update the date above and tell customers directly.
